Sierra Henries
Sierra Henries has been drawing and experimenting with many different materials and visual mediums since she was very young, always especially inspired by designs, colors and shapes in the natural world. This love of nature combined with her cultural heritage as a modern traditional Nipmuc woman led her to creating unique works of art on birch bark collected in her own community and in her travels throughout Indian Country. Her uniquely Eastern Woodland style designs are created free hand and ultimately burned into the bark using a pyrography tool.
Sierra’s original birch bark designs are well known among Native artisans and certainly those who appreciate Eastern Woodlands works of art.
