Cape Modern Documentary At LA Film Fest This Weekend

The Architecture and Design Film Festival in L.A. will be screening Built on Narrow Land. by CCMHT Board President, Malachi Connolly. The film explores the cultural and political forces that created the Cape's modern architecture and protected landscape. There will be a panel discussion on So-Cal modern architecture restoration just before one of the screenings at 4:00pm Sunday (see below).

Also at the festival...Sunday, March 16 (2:30 - 3:30pm) Purism and Pragmatism: Restoring Classic Modern Houses As a prolific author on modernist architecture and owner of a classic Richard Neutra apartment, Michael Webb will lead this fascinating panel on restoration and the delicate balance between idealism and practicality. He will be joined by actress and preservationist Kelly Lynch, who currently owns Richard Neutra’s Oyler House; Michael Boyd, principal of Boyd Design, a consultancy for the restoration of modernist architecture and collecting modern design; and Frank Escher, partner at Escher Gune Wardena Architecture and an expert on John Lautner. http://adfilmfest.com/portal/2479
