Add-on '13 Finalists Present Their Work In Wellfleet Forum

Add-On '13 Finalists Present Their Work in Wellfleet Forum

On May 26th after an introduction, and brief explanation of Wellfleet's Accessory Dwelling bylaw, the finalists explained their designs for Phase One of the Add-on'13 competition. A capacity crowd of interested Wellfleetians raised important questions. The possibilities and pitfalls of building AADUs in town were debated.

Half of the finalists were in the midst of their artist/scholar residencies in the Hatch Cottage and the Kugel/Gips House (the other three teams will have theirs in September). Finalists will now begin work on Phase Two, which will include more developed drawings, a model of their designs, and a proposal for a mini-cluster of 3 units. The final jury will select the winning team on August 13, 2013.
